New hair will not grow back in the previously waxed area for two to eight weeks, although some people will start to see regrowth in only a week. Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including eyebrows, face, bikini area, legs, arms, back, abdomen and feet. There are many types of waxing suitable for removing unwanted hair. Waxing is accomplished by spreading a wax combination thinly over the skin. A cloth or paper strip is then pressed on the top and ripped off with a quick movement against the direction of hair growth, this removes the wax along with the hair.
What is this course?The VTCT Level 2 Award in Waxing (QCF) is a specialist vocationally related qualification. This qualification will develop the basic knowledge, skills and competencies that learners need to provide provide hair removal treatments for clients using waxing techniques. This qualification is most suited to learners who wish to embark on a career as a beauty therapist. The taught theory aspect of this course only includes waxing techniques & related theory. Taught theory on health & safety, salon duties and anatomy & physiology is not incuded so there is general study on these subjects to do at home. Should you wish to attend the taught theory sessions (3 x days or 6 x eves) there would be an additioinal charge of £180; dates can be given on application. Who is this course suitable for?
This course is suitable for those wishing to qualify as a professional beauty therapist and gain insurance to work in any of the many job opportinuties which are available in high street salons, beauty clinics, health spas, hotels, cruise ships or alternatively, those wishing to be self-employed; choosing either to work from home or visit clients in their own homes. Course datesDuration: 5 days or 9 evenings (10:30am - 5pm daytime or 6.15pm - 9.15pm evenings)
