What is Hopi Ear Candling?
Hopi Ear Candling, also known as Thermo-auricular Therapy, is a completely natural therapy and has come from the Native American Hopi Indians of Northern Arizona to the Western world. This now popular therapy is known for its physical benefits in treating ear and sinus problems as well as other conditions. The candle itself is made from natural ingredients - usually 100% beeswax, but sometimes with the addition of natural herbs or essential oils. The procedure is comfortable and soothing. Recipients of the treatment sometimes fall asleep, and it has a relaxing, calming effect on the whole body. The candles work on a 'chimney' principle, drawing up impurities from within the ear. The rising air also has the effect of giving the ear drum a gentle, but pleasant massage which, in turn, helps to regulate pressure.
