Barbara Torney: IV, Sports Tutor & Assessor

Cert. Ed., IIST, ESM, FHFST, Cert. E.C.B.S. 

Barbara trained in Body Massage and Equine Sports Massage in 1996 to follow her dream of becoming an Equine Sports Therapist. After working successfully with many horses and treating their riders in her clinic Barbara completed an Advanced Sports Massage course which included Activity Injuries, Remedial Massage and Post Medical Rehabilitation. Enjoying her time at college she took a teaching post in the Sports Department and gained her Cert. Ed teaching qualification, VTCT Assessor and Internal Verifier awards. She is adaptable in her approach to teaching allowing her students to develop their individual style. Barbara is also a Bowen Therapist, Reiki Master & Teacher and has trained in the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai methods. She divides her time between teaching, her pain & injury clinic and equine practice. She is a fellow of FHT - The International Council of Health, Fitness and Sports Therapists.

Dee Kelsall: Reiki Master, VTCT Tutor & Assessor

BSc (Hons), VTCT, IIHHT

Dee started training in therapies in 1991, her first therapy being Sports Massage. Since then she has qualified in Aromatherapy, Advanced Reflexology and Indian Head Massage. She graduated from Chester College in 1997 with a BA (Hons) in Health and Community Studies. She is also a Reiki Master. For the past 10 years Dee has been running her own clinic working mainly mobile as well as working as a qualified VTCT tutor and assessor. Dee is an exceptionally experienced tutor and has a reputation for her breadth of knowledge in many therapies and anatomy and physiology. She is also for well known for her great sense of humour and wit. Dee is both a tutor and an assessor with CMA and is our resident  Reiki Master.

Judith Peplow: VTCT Tutor & Assessor

VTCT, IIHHT

Judith specialises in Vortex Healing and has qualified in more therapies than most, she loves discovering and learning about new treatments and her enthusiasm for complimentary therapies shines through in her teaching and her own clinical practice. Judith is a tremendously thorough tutor having a wealth of experience and knowledge, and as well as being one of our longest standing tutors she is also one of most experienced assessors.

Marguerite Halpin: VTCT Tutor & Assessor

PGCE, BSc (Hons), VTCT, IIHHT

Marguerite is highly academic having a BSC (Hons) in Health Sciences and a PGCE in FE/HE, however, in contrast she brings a huge sense of fun to all her teaching; she is creative with her methods being adaptable to all learning styles, which is a clever skill to master. She is an exceptionally popular tutor at the Academy always having a big smile for everyone and her classes are never dull. Marguerite is qualified in Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Body Massage and Indian Head Massage.

Nicola Richards: VTCT Tutor & Assessor

Cert. Ed., VTCT, IIHHT, FHT

Nicola is a truly gifted therapist and tutor, she has many years of tutoring experience across most therapies, being qualified in Reflexology at an advanced level, Indian Head Massage, Body and Advanced Massage, First Aid, Reiki and Aromatherapy; she also runs her own clinical practice. Nicola will also be running the 'Teaching Baby Massage' courses in 2010.
