Hot Stone Massage Diploma Course

Cost: £110

This course is recognised by The FHT for 10 CPPD points.

What is Hot Stone Massage?

Hot Stone Massage is becoming ever popular in the UK. The technique uses heated Basalt Lava stones that warm the client's muscles, allowing a much deeper working of the tissues than a conventional massage as the heat from warm basalt stones penetrate deeply to help loosen and sooth tightened, congested muscles. Stones are chosen to correspond to specific parts of the body, oil is smoothed onto the client and the stone is then worked along the skin in place of the therapist's hand.

During the massage, the therapist warms up the body with traditional Swedish massage, then apply massage whilst holding a heated stone. As the stone cools, the therapist replaces it with another. The therapist might also leave heated stones in specific points along the spine, in the palms of the hands, on the stomach and between the toes to improve the flow of energy in your body.

Who would benefit from this course?

All therapists both self employed and working in salons or spas would benefit greatly from this course as it is a standalone therapy but also ideal when incorporated with other treatments such as Reflexology and Aromatherapy. It is fast becoming a very popular treatment and therapists can charge more than a conventional massage session.
