Introduction Course to Swedish Massage

(duration - one day; 10:30am - 5pm)

What will you learn?

This introduction course offers a taster to Swedish Massage, hence allowing you to learn about the therapy and how to perform the basic therapy to see if it is for you, without having to commit yourself to a fully accredited course. However this Swedish Massage course will provide the ideal preparation should you wish to go onto the VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Anatomy, Physiology & Massage. By the end of the course you will be able you to perform a basic massage routine on your family and friends with a confident manner and you will be awarded a Cheshire Massage Academy Certificate. There are no formal assessments on this course.

What is Full Body Swedish Massage?

This beginners' Swedish massage course is designed for anyone from complete novices to enthusiastic amateurs. The one day workshop will cover the full swedish body massage routine and all theoretical underlying principles. The objective of the workshop is to allow you to be confident in your touch and understand the nature of what you are doing and to be confident in treating family and friends.

You will study:

• The history of Swedish massage
• Benefits & effects of Swedish massage
• Contra-indications
• Swedish Massage techniques
• Preparation for treatment
• After treatment care
• Full-body Swedish massage routine

• One day workshop including tutoring & practical
• Personalised course folder containing all course content & additional notes

• Informal teaching style allowing course members to ask questions and make input
• Numbers are limited so teaching is kept on a personal level
