** INCLUSIVE COURSE within this qualification is: VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Health, Safety, Security & Employment Standards This is a mandatory part of all VTCT Holistic Therapy course, so if you have already completed this qualification or another VTCT course which contained Units M2 & M74 within the last 3 years, you will not be required to repeat. However, you will be required to provide evidence.
The theory behind reflexology is that each of the body's organs and glands are "linked" to corresponding areas of the hands and feet. The application of pressure to the hands, feet or ears relaxes muscles and improves blood circulation. Energy is restored to the body and ultimately reflexology improves its overall condition. Using thumb, finger and hand techniques pressure is applied to specific are of the hands, feet and sometimes ears to alleviate common ailments such as headaches, back pain, sinus colds and stress.
This course is suitable for those wishing to qualify as a professional reflexologist but also for those who have a genuine interest in taking the basic understanding of the therapy further.
Each candidate is required to undertake a number of case studies over a period of time both in college and at home and to complete assignments and project work. Internal assessment involves tests, assignments and practical observations to cover a range of clients and assignments to check knowledge. The course will involve assessment in both practical and theoretical areas. Written work is done via workbook and a practical sampling assessment will be done as a final examination.
